YouTube Livestream 7/3/24 and 7/17/24
This block can be done either by EPP, templates or paper piecing. Now that we have done some of each, pick which one you like best.
Material
4 different colors for the center
– Minimum sizes of scraps: 9¼ x 3½ and 4 ¾ x 3 ½
Background
– 4 of each: 7½ x 3¼ and 7 x 5¼
1. Print 4 copies of either the templates or the paper piecing pattern.
2. If doing paper piecing, tape the 2 pieces together to create one large triangle with 4 sub-triangles
3. Cut out the pieces and arrange on the table. Mark your fabric selections on each piece. This will help you avoid mixing them up later
4. Prefold on the lines. This will make it easier to either remove the paper afterward and to trim your seam allowances
5. Glue or pin down piece #1 then add on the others in order.
6. Once all 4 triangles made, ensure you have them laid out in the right order then sew together. You may want to consider running a line of basting stitches along the inside of the final seam line. This will prevent shifting when putting the 4 blocks together.
7. Press seams open to reduce bulk.
8. Trim block to 12 ½” square
7. Remove papers and basting stitches if used
