- For the isosceles triangles –
- cut 8 from a yellow 4½” strip
- cut 4 from light background 4½” strip
- cut 4 from medium or dark background 4½” strip
- For side triangles –
- Cut 2 light and 2 dark background squares – 4¼” squares, cut on diagonal
- Cut 2 light and 2 dark background squares – 3½” squares, cut on diagonal
Print out 4 copies of either the paper piecing design or the templates.
Put one yellow and one light background isosceles triangles right sides together, sew together on the short side. Repeat 3 times for a total of 4. Press to the yellow side.
Put one yellow and one med or dark background isosceles triangles right sides together, sew together on the short side. Repeat 3 times for a total of 4. Press to the background side.
Following the FPP template, add the side triangles to the yellow triangle. Remember that they will be the opposite background color from the original diamond you created.
Sew the opposite colors together to form squares. Press the seam open.
Join the 4 squares together. Press the seams open.
